Sometimes we are in a hurry that we forget activities that are pending. A typical example would be like walking into a room and we keep thinking about why we were there in the first place. Isn’t that common? Or I think age is catching on me for sure. Some of the classic mistakes I have seen people doing is to bring up an environment in a hurry and choose the Evaluation Edition because they don’t have the key handy at that point in time.

Thank you for this and all the useful posts you makeI hit this today. My installation (Enterprise 2016) was an evaluation, which I hadn’t realized, and it expired.

I’ve got the installation media for the enterprise version, but I haven’t been able to upgrade because the the rules validation don’t pass because the services can’t start and the services can’t start because the evaluation period has expired. SoI don’t see how to upgrade an expired copy. I hesitate to uninstall the evaluation. If you have any suggestions, I’d be grateful. Hey all!I was tasked with installing Windows 10 on a computer for one of our labs. Accidentally installed Pro (was exhausted and got careless with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool (oops), and now I need to upgrade it to enterprise.I tried a clean install using both a bootable CD and a bootable flash drive. The CD was made on my mac, the flash drive was made on my windows computer using Rufus. Both got to the screen with the four blue squares (no spinning circle beneath it) and froze. Left it overnight and it didn't move.I then tried to create a bootable USB using my mac, and the computer isn't recognizing that.We have a key management server, so I don't have a key myself for the product. It's hooked up to AD and plugged into the network, so it should be able to see the server.

I already tried the 'dummy keys' that they have listed on Microsoft's website, to no avail. There doesn't seem to be any clear way to upgrade without one of those working. This is all complicated by the fact that the computer I'm installing it on is a mac mini.Do you guys have any suggestions as to how to make this happen?
