I practically lived in them during the 1980's when I was a professional musician, and because of this, my listening experiences outside of the studios almost always left me unsatisfied.
I was absolutely cured of this after purchasing my Denon DRA-1025R along with a pair of JBL monitors. I own a Luxman R-117, Kenwood KR-9600, Marantz 2330B, Yamaha separates, and several other excellent audio devices, but the Denon remains my favorite to this day. My only regret about the DRA-1025R is they don't make them anymore. I'd happily buy it again. Highly recommended.
